How often I have struggled sorting through the tremendous variety of perennials to find the combinations which blend together and will grow in the particular soil and light combinations at hand. The author presents the "combinations" by color, color for all seasons, special sites (shade, clay and wet soils), and combinations for water gardens, hummingbirds and flutter-byes. Great ideas, working with 120 of the best perennial combinations for residential gardens. The expertise is presented in show more a pithy practical manner and I have found learning on every page. The abundant color photographs are supplied with photo "keys" which name the characters in the picture -- so helpful! show less
I liked it, but it would have been much more helpful had it been organized by region or hardiness zone.
