Just when I thought I can't get any more awed by Miriam Defensor-Santiago, she proves me wrong with this book. She's kickass, topped with a sense of humor. And sandwiched between her jokes and pickup lines, is a calling to be educated voters and future leaders of the country. In between funny chapters are some speeches she gave during symposia and commencement exercises.

Great read for a book so thin. :)
I enjoyed reading Miriam’s speeches and some of her quotes, albeit not all of them are hers originally. My favorite part would be reading about how she encourages you to put yourself in a high pressure environment because that’s we’re the bigger gains are. I knew about Miriam when I lived in the Philippines. I knew she was an intellectual. However, I had no idea that she was exceptionally brilliant. In the later part of the book, it shows her political and scholarly achievements. This show more book was meant to make you laugh, but it is inspiring too in many ways. Brilliant minds can exist anywhere, even in third world countries. show less
The first book is good but this one is way better. I love how Sen. Miriam mentioned that we should try to work in the government and to lead the change. She also tackles the importance to serve the country and not to be a part of the brain drain. Newly graduates should grab a copy of this because they can learn a lot from the copy of the commencement speeches of Sen. Miriam that is included here.
