The book contains nine chapters: the first seven for each of Sibelius's completed symphonies; the latter two are entitled Symphony no. 8 (conjectured) and Tapiola. Each chapter contains subsections labelled in accordance with the tempo marking of any one symphony's particular movement. The chapters nicely interweave seven murders (and their corresponding investigations) with a
musicologist presenting a weekly lecture at the Sibelius Academy on each symphony. The murders take place in show more different locations in Helsinki, providing interesting information and history to non-Finns about various
