Using a picture book which depicts Bible verses, Owen tries to find his way through the woods to his father's house, leading him to experience adventures through the deep woods, an impassible stream, and mysterious sounds and sights along the way.

Owen is a young boy who has spent the day at his Grandmother's farm. When it's time to go home, his Grandma sends him on his own with a small backpack of tools an a book of signs/verses. He encounters many dangerous obstacles as he makes his way, but ultimately gets home in the end with the help and encouragement from the book his Grandmother gave him.
