Truly one of the great titles, but unlike several others I can think-of -- like FROM THOSE WONDERFUL FOLKS WHO GAVE YOU PEARL HARBOR, and INSTEAD OF A BOOK BY A MAN TOO BUSY TO WRITE ONE -- the rest of the work lives up to tthat high standard. American traditional and country music has had at-least as many bona fide geniuses as has any other area of human endeavour. Unfortunately, none whom I can recall have written about it with any depth or partiuclar skill. Failing that, I was delighted show more by this insider's look from a man who more than made-up in memoirist's gift for what he didn't much have in his chosen fields of song-writing and performing. I was about to say that this book richly deserves to be re-printed, but such is the injustice of life that the earlier editions might not have sold-out yet after these several decades. show less
