For the past 60 years the three popular parliamentary authorities were Robert's Rules of Order, Sturgis Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure, and Demeter's Manual. The Standard Code had updated editions in 1988 and 2001, and a new American Institute of Parliamentarians Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure was published in 2012. Robert's Rules has had five editions since this last Demeter from 1969 with the latest, Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (11th Edition), released in show more 2011.
While Demeter's Manual has been an excellent source to use when double-checking the answer to a complicated problem, it's seldom used as a parliamentary authority any more and is unlikely to ever be updated. show less
