SPOILER ALERT
okay, so I don't want to break the author's hard work down, and this book seems to be getting some good reviews, but it really just wasn't for me. The more I read, the more the heroine, Maggie, was getting on my nerves.
As of the beginning of the book, Maggie seems to be carrying a huge secret with her, and when we finally find out, it's 'just' the fact that her dad walked out on both her and her mom, and she overheard the conversation between her mom and dad, and she felt show more relieved... Come on, we've all been hormonal thirteen year-old girls, didn't we all have a moment (or more) filled with these kind of feelings? And that's her reason for blocking out Haden.
But in the end, even though they hardly know each other for 1 week, where it seems they hardly spent any time together, she just KNOWS he's the one. And she appreciates the fact that he's so patient with her. Really? Patient? they'd hardly even met! He couldn't have lost his patience yet. The way the book progresses seems like they have known each other for months already, or at least weeks. In my opinion, their emotions were just too soon, too much and I didn't connect with either Haden or Maggie, both just really annoyed me.
But again, this is just my (very personal) opinion, and I don't write reviews very loosely, as in, almost never. So if I do write one, it's a strong feeling I'm trying to bring across. show less

I never had so many theories on what might happen next in a book, especially on that sort. Ealy in this book I had a bunch of ideas for Dana, Ethan and Kayla. Most of them were right and that was a shock because they were not good. It also made me wonder whats Ethans age. Ethan thinks he is old for her but Kayla does not say a thing about age difference. Third but not least is the two point of views who are telling us the story. It is 90% Kayla's POV and 10% Ethan's POV. The weird part is show more the way the person says the story. In Kayla's say it goes like this "I went to the office"(it is not a line from the book just an example) and in Ethan's case it is like this "He made breakfast and after that he went to work". See what I mean?
Anyway I will read Betrayed ( book #2) because the trilogy seems promising. show less

Maggie sure goes through a lot in this book. The struggle with letting Haden go was heart wrenching. I understood that she was trying to do what was best for him but she didnt give him a say in the matter . Only one sex scene but there was lots so swoon worthy moments.
Fabulous ending.
Fabulous ending.
Maggie seems to be a bit naive yet not in a odd way. I think what her mother did to her was terrible- just because things didn't turn out well for her didn't mean they couldn't for her daughter. I figured out pretty quickly what was up with her mom but there are still so many secrets that have yet to be answered. Hayden now he is one yummy fella. He's patient and kind with Maggie. Maggie's walls crumble pretty quickly (almost to quickly). Hayden has his own secrets and I too figured it out show more but when Maggie figures it out she looses it. I hope that she comes to her senses in the next book! One hot love scene. The ending is a cliff hanger! Book #2 "Saved by You" is due out July 25th. show less
