A fantastic story about conservation. An African boy is warned by his parents to avoid hunting in the rain forest and manages to be tracked by a panther lurking in the deep, dark forest. But the story takes a nice and surprising twist as the boy and panther become friends. The panther even helps the village by leading the boy to some meat and then providing it for the village. The pictures are beautifully illustrated and introduce young readers to many animals who reside in the African rain show more forest. show less
