Short biography
[from Amazon website]
Kevin McCarthy is Senior Pastor of the Washington Family Church in the Nation's Capitol [sic]. Born in Freehold, New Jersey to a family of Irish-American Catholics, he moved to the rural, Protestant South at a young age and was raised in Aberdeen, North Carolina. Not feeling his life was complicated enough, he was one of the first Americans to meet Rev. Sun Myung Moon in 1972 in San Francisco, California and, at age twenty-one, became a leader in the organization that most everyone thought was a "dangerous cult" that practiced "mind-control" over its adherents.

"Everybody thought I had lost my mind" says McCarthy. "Of course, its clear I didn't actually lose my mind until much later in life. . .when my kids became teenagers!"

As far as concerns about mind control, McCarthy admits his wife, Carol, is an expert practitioner, however, he insists, "she didn't learn it from Rev. Moon."

McCarthy has spent the last 30 years involved in interdenominational dialogue aimed at promoting mutual understanding of what Christians believe in relation to the teachings of Rev. Moon. "It has been a two-way street," says McCarthy. "I've learned a lot about the many issues that divide Christians. I believe the teachings of Rev. Moon can serve to resolve some of those major disagreements."

McCarthy has traveled the world and has taught over 10,000 clergy from virtually every denominational background. The Master Plan is his third book.
