This is really a book for fans of Tim Powers. It starts with a bibliography of all his published works in all their editions. Whilst that sounds dull unless you're an avid fan, it's brief and colourful, enhanced by anecdotes about or from the author.

Then it moves on to the meat of the book. There's an essay from China Mieville about how awesome The Anubis Gates is and finally a load of notes about the various novels - outlines, plans, research notes and the like. And that's what makes it show more amazing to my mind - an insight into the process and development of all these amazing stories he's told.

There are parts where you wonder... particularly with Last Call the notes seem to go on forever, but they are still interesting to read. show less
