This is absolutely my favourite astrology book. Linda Goodman gives each possible zodiac pairing such thorough treatment -- far more so than any other book I've found.Even though it focuses on aspects of love and romance, there's a lot of general information about each sign packed in as well. Goodman doesn't merely provide the same dry retellings of each sign's qualities; she makes the descriptions highly entertaining, thought-provoking, and relateable. As always, her insights onto the signs show more are well elaborated and quite detailed. She treats the subject of love with such compassion, making the point that if any two people are willing to work enough on their relationship, any two signs can learn to live in harmony. A truly incredible work. While there are a few sections (notably in Aquarius and Pisces) that get a bit too New-Agey for my tastes, I was completely delighted with her treatment of Leos. ;) All of Goodman's books are worthy astrological guides, but this is far and away the best of them. show less
That is kind of a nostalgic tip of the hat four stars there, because I appreciate Linda's Aries nature and the way she threw open the doors for a generation of astrologers and people in search of a bit more insight than just that newspaper column promising a tall dark stranger on Tuesday. And the Alice in Wonderland framework of Sunsigns was cool, particularly to the children of the 60's, our long hair trailing, our embroidered gowns catching the light.
But this book was also the first one to show more make me realize that in all fairness (yes, I'm a Libra by sunsign) astrologers and writers on astrology should be required to give you their charts first. Or at least to admit to their biases. Aries Linda had trouble with the Libra people and didn't quite capture us in all our glory.
It's a fun read, though, and a nice introduction to the art. Just don't take it too seriously, okay? show less

Whether legitimate or not, whether weird or not, this book has shaped so many of my opinions about myself and about other people. I don’t think astrology is necessarily the ruling force in the universe, but I think it has some kind of significance, and Linda Goodman is its original genius. In the book, each of the twelve sun signs is broken up into five sections: a main overview, the male, the female, the boss and the child. She describes each sign with anecdotes, quotes and stories that show more either have either have personal relevance for her or cultural relevance for the reader. Although written in the sixties, Goodman’s book is still appropriate in today’s world, and I’ve yet to find a better guide to the signs. show less
Not what I was looking for, but filled a need for knowledge nonetheless. This book doesn't accurately explain Sun Signs. It does for a general view, yes, but when it comes to people, you really need to make a birth chart for them, interpret each, and then synastry - it's all in the details! On the other hand, I will give credit for being fabulously funny, witty and romantic. It really did fuel my interest in astrology, and bettered my understanding by giving examples of the character of each show more sign as human beings, along with the season they prefer and the body part they affect. show less
