3348. The Contribution of German Catholicism, by Alexander Dru (read Sept 10, 2000). This is a small absorbing book that talked a lot about German scholars I am poorly informed about. The author's thesis is that Germans did not attach themselves to the State as did French Catholics (before the Revolution, and in the years 1815-1830 and under Napoleon III) and this was healthy. This was a good book to read, tho I am not as knowledgeable on much he discussed as I wish I was.
