Part of the required reading in one of my graduate programs on therapy. The 8th edition is a great overview of assessment in various parts of the counseling profession. The information is detailed enough to be accurate, but brief enough not to drag the reader down with minutiae and redundancies. Even the sections including details on the mathematics necessary for assessment are not too “mathy”. Enough information on the statistical steps necessary for various procedures is present to be show more a refresher for those who’ve had a more involved stat course, and enough for a lay understanding of the process involved for those who don’t need to carry out the procedures themselves but do need some knowledge of what they mean. show less
