This book was very disappointing. It never explained why you wouldn't want to live without extreme weather. It only explained why you wouldn't want to live without rain. Their were some pretty interesting facts though. This is one of the longer you wouldn't want to be books. It didn't talk much about natural disasters. A little bit about tornadoes. Also a little bit about how people abandoned villages during long droughts so that the water could fill their villages. I find that really cool.

In the amazon it stays warm and in the artic it stays cold. People may fell better after a thunder storm du to cooling of edges at the end of a storm. Jet streams are narrow ribbons of air that blow from west to east high up in the atmosphere. There are planes that are specially equipped so it can take pictures of hurricanes from the top. People use winds for some sports like skiing sometimes they use parachutes to propel themselves. show less

You Wouldn't want to Live Without Clean Water is an excellent way to show/tell kids and tweens about water and ways to preserve it. This book tells about the water cycle, how clean water keeps you healthy, how big your water footprint is, and etc. It tells you facts about how much water you use a day. Did you know that it takes 2.8 gallons of water to get a single sheet of paper from the tree to your printer. Showering for five minutes instead of ten can save about 30 gallons of water. It show more tells that some countries fight over oil but scientist think that in the 21st century its going to water instead.
This book is great for doing research or just to read for fun. It gives you interesting facts and colorful pictures. The way they wrote the book is very kid friendly. I love that they make it inserting so you don't fall asleep while reading it. Overall this is a very good and interesting book. You should defiantly check it out. show less

Have you ever thought about how life would be without clean water? It sounds really bad according to this book. Of course people think that being able drink water is the most important thing. However, the animals you eat need water and water also helps sickness. There is actually this one interesting thing that says that you can put a flower in a vase and put food coloring in the water. After a day or so the flower is supposed to change color. Living things wouldn't be able to exist without show more water. Every single living organism needs water.

I am not a huge fan of most non-fiction books. However learning about some of the effects water is pretty interesting. There were many fun activities that you could do in the book. I actually plan on testing some of the experiments with my friends. There were little side stories. One was about this place the had a little spout of water people could drink from, but people always died there. It was because there was an underground oil site that got into the water. show less

Bacteria seems to be bad for you.Its not, it breaks down items, it fights off bad bacteria, and it works with other bacteria. Food would have the same flavor as other food if it weren't for bacteria. Earth wouldn't survive outwith bacteria because all living creatures need at least one bacteria to survive. In the human there is 10 times more bacteria than human cells. Bacteria are used to fight of certain diseases and or sicknesses. Bacteria are very important and without them we would be show more like Mars.
I found this book interesting. I would think more bacteria is in a bathroom than in a kitchen. I am thankful that bacteria is here or my sweet and sour duck would be, well i'm not sure,but it wouldn't taste as good. It does freak me out a little that there's more bacteria then cells in my body but then again bacteria can be good for you. I'm a little surprised that there is so much more bacteria than cells in peoples bodies though. As long as the bacteria is good than I don't care. I do dislike the fact that the kitchen has more bacteria than a bathroom it disgusts me. show less
