The DVD included with this text is mind-blowing. One of my greatest frustrations with work like Cornell's is that I can't pick it up, shake it, or play with it. In some short video clips included on the disc, they do just that: light sources move around the shadow boxes in ways I wouldn't thought of, bottles are removed from racks and examined, glass balls tinkle against container walls. It's the first time I've seen an art DVD that gives me an experience I otherwise couldn't have had.
The show more book itself is lavish nearly to the point of silliness. show less

Laura already captured my feelings about this book so much better than I could ever have done on my own:
"joseph cornell you are a plagerist of my unconcsious mind."
Is this plagiarism??
