This is a deeply offensive story about a happy slave and his master who entrusts him with the family silver during the Civil War. When Eneas returns after nearly a decade of adventures, he offers his three young children to the master, who accepts.
I'm tempted to discard, but will probably keep it for it's historical value. I have other contemporaneous books that offer differing viewpoints.

Distasteful and dehumanizing pro-slavery fictional account by southern white writer, Harry S. Edwards. He wrote pro-slavery literature in post Civil War era. This book published in 1920. In short, happy slave travels with a cup to find master and in the end gives his own children to the master.!!! Really!!!
