This book is meant to be practical, offering no-nonsense advice. On the surface, it succeeds. And yet, there was nothing new or overly interesting here. The advice revolves around making time to write, committing to writing, and sticking with it. It’s all very basic stuff, and if this advice were easy to follow, we’d all be bestselling authors. It seemed aimed at beginning writers, and despite offering a bunch of platitudes along the lines of “just sit your ass in the chair and show more write,” it didn’t actually offer any concrete tips about HOW to do just that. Overall, disappointing. show less
LOVE is a strong word. I heard about this on a By the Book podcast episode and it made me curious to read it. It's a short read that outlines a 21-day, step-by-step process for producing a short Kindle ebook. It tells you how much time to allow for each step, producing in effect, an ebook formula.

It doesn't promise an award-winning best seller, but it tells you how to get from idea to execution.

It makes getting published feel accessible and doable for people who are interested in trying show more their hand at writing something, but don't know where to start. Buy the book, follow the plan, and you have a basic starter recipe that you can experiment with and adapt to taste.

It isn't fancy or frilly, but it delivers on its promise and for that is worth 4 stars.

Admittedly, I am not likely the target audience for this book. For most of my life, I’ve been an organization junkie and didn’t have a problem with clutter. Then I had a bunch of kids. With children, came more stuff, less time, and eventually things pile up and you no longer recognize your life. It happens to the best of parents.

This book is a little different in how it approaches this problem, as it is very simple and gives you a step by step outline on directly tackling cluttered areas show more of your home.

This was a rather short guide and a very fast read. I knocked it over in about 90 mins, would have been less if I'd not been interrupted by someone wanting to talk to me. It was relatively well structured and did have relevant points. However there was not a lot of new material here. If you read recently written publications on "How to Write....", you will get something very similar to this book. That's not to say it was a bad read, it was well written and easy to follow, much more so than show more some other writing books I have read recently, and there are good points. I would recommend this as a quick booster read if you are feeling demotivated about your writing and need a bit of a kick up the bum or something to get you back on track. show less
