Jody Enders is Professor of French and Co-chair of the Medieval Studies Program at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is the author of Rhetoric and the Origins of Medieval Drama, and winner of the MLA's Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize for French and Francophone Studies

"The Farce of the Fart" and Other Ribaldries: Twelve Medieval French Plays in Modern English (The Middle Ages Series) by Jody Enders

Personally, I am not especially fond of fart humor, but some of the other pieces in this collection are interesting, and the translator obviously had a lot of fun trying to turn their outrageous puns into modern English. I was particularly interested in the farce of "Porte Bodes" which is a variant on the old ballad "Get Up and Bar the Door."
