Disclaimer: I am totally addicted to Barbara Silkstone's books!
Not many authors can snark so well or have the reader groaning quite so loudly over the gawdawful puns! The situations and plot twists are both diabolical and ingenious. Just like her way of producing several short interconnected books that leave you wanting more instead of groaning over the 700 page wonders.
In this episode, Lizzy nearly reaps the effects of declining Darcy, sees Caroline become a mud turtle, is tasked with show more teaching the love witch how to be loveable, worries over two of her sisters, speaks with Darcy's mother in a painting, and is commanded to be mistress of the prince regent!
I still don't see how Jannie Meisberger can do such a remarkable narration without ROFL.

If you're looking for a serious (really?) Pride and Prejudice knockoff, you are most decidedly in the wrong place! This is a contemporary version and a real funfest!
Of course, Darcy is obscenely rich, but Lizzie Bennet is PhD dog psychologist. Her sisters are a mess, his is manipulative, Wickham is looney, Caroline is (of course) an a$$. And Darcy's pampered pet bassetts are just delightful. See publisher's blurb for clues without spoilers.
The audio version is masterfully rendered by Karen show more Krause who totally adds to the snarks and puns.
I bought this in Whispersync on the cheap.

Barbara Silkstone's grown-up twist on the child-hood classic Peter Pan is a joy to read. This story has a little bit of everything: romance, mystery, and humor. The way the original version of the fairy tale winds its way throughout the storyline is ingenious! Being a fan of the original version, it was fun to see my favorite characters portrayed in different ways and sometimes even different creatures. Even famous, quotable lines are thrown into the book, bringing a smile to my face or show more often a big laugh. The subtleties of the original story creeping into the plot are a lot fun too. You have to pay close attention; Ms. Silkstone is so clever in entwining these into the storyline that sometimes it is easy to totally miss some of these. All in all, this is a great story that culminates to a wonderfully exciting ending. A fun, laugh-out-loud read. I plan on reading Barbara Silkstone's other book in this series, The Secret Diary of Alice in Wonderland, to see how she deals with that fairy tale; I am expecting a lot of laughs from that book as well. show less
Welcome to the wonderful, wacky world of Wendy Darlin, Miami real estate broker. Her newest agent is a daughter of an old friend, but rather useless until she is given an opportunity to sell to a crook, whom she marries. Said twit has Wendy at the wedding and makes her promise to Take care of said husband if she dies.
Wendy had a previous sort-of marriage to a similar kind of crook after a lot of unwise drinking, and that comes back to bite her as well. Soon Wendy meets Roger Jolly, who seems show more to be an SEC investigative agent, and is off on a hilarious adventure. She encounters murder, yachts, a helicopter, a dog in live with a pig, more crooks, and the punny names are absolutely inspired!
A delightful dose of unreality to brighten up a dismal spell or two!
Also available as Whispersync. The narrator is either not fully engaged, or having control issues with the gigglesnorts.
