It's the old story: girl has boy, girl loses boy to floosie, girl gets boy back after rescuing him from the brink of a frozen grave.

But this time with elephants.
Mom doesn't like this one. Ms is indifferent to it, Mx seems to really like it when he comes across it, but doesn't seek it out. It is about being loyal to the girl you are with and not being distracted by a novel girl (a bit old-fashioned and not age appropriate in my view.
Amigo Means Friends is about two friends, one who speaks Spanish and the other speaks English. At first they thought each other talked funny, but from being friends they taught each other their language and now the other speaks his friends language.

I use to read this book all the time when I was young. I remember getting it from one of my teachers who taught us Spanish. It is a cute book to show young readers that it does not matter what language you speak, you can still be friends.

In the show more classroom I would have each student tell about a time they became friends with some one who was different than they were. I might also teach them a few words in Spanish. show less
