We should love ourselves and not think that anything is wrong with ourselves. Alfred realized that not having a nose and having a tongue that stuck out all the time wasn't so bad because he was surrounded by people who loved him and the way he looked.
Upon first glance Vivienne Flesher's book "Alfred's Nose" looks like quite a fantastic story. The front cover has an adorable close-up photograph of a dog's nose and tongue. All of the picture inside are real-life pictures and this makes for an interesting flip through. I wasn't impressed with the storyline however. As an animla lover I kind of felt sorry for Alfred throughout the story. It didn't seem that he liked to be dressed up in halloween costumes or have different snouts on his face. show more I was left with s sense of sadness and a longing to have Alfred at my house where he could be free of the cruelty of costumes. show less
"Even though everybody loves him as he is, Alfred, a French bulldog, finds it hard to accept his unusual looks, especially his nose" LCL.
