What an awesome present for a Christian graduate! This cute little book is not exactly what I was expecting. There is absolutely no commentary except for the foreword and "Dear Graduate" pages. The rest of the book is simply a collection of scriptures organized under different sections and questions.

This is a perfect index for the Bible. It ranges from topics such as "Who is God?" to God's blessings show more to a collection of scriptures to inspire you when you're lonely. It has such a good, diverse range of topics that I believe works perfectly for quick help.

Be aware that the first section of questions with answers won't really help you if you already have trouble understanding the Bible. It's just a collection of scriptures -- not an explanation of them. But, it's still worth buying because of the other sections that show God's blessings to you, where to find truth, time management, and so much more!

When I removed this book from the packaging, I was in awe with how beautiful it was! The cover is a faux burgundy leather with tooling and gold embossed letters and stitching around the edge of the cover. The pages are printed with brown ink on a brownish faux "antique looking paper" with edges that have gold guilding (like a bible). The whole effect is one of richness.

The book itself contains history of the King James Bible and include pictures of what the bible once looked like. After the show more history, the book is divided into sections which contain verses that match the sections: God's Hope, God's Love, etc. There are also parts that include changes that occurred with the times.

This is a gorgeous book that would be perfect for gift giving - a nice inexpensive yet very rich looking addition to anyone's collection. With that said, I was disappointed in the contents of the book. With the description, I was looking for whole pages replicated from the original KJV, but instead was supplied with small graphics of them. I had expected with a 400th Anniversary edition, that there would be a lot more history of the KJV, and not a glorified gift book of verses with some history thrown in.

Are you a parent of a son or sons trying to ground your son or son’s in Biblical truth? If you are, then you are a lot like me. Being the father of three young boys, I often find myself looking for devotional material to use with them in our all too infrequent family devotionals. I had hopes for “God’s Promises for Boys” by Jack Countryman and Amy Parker when I received this book to review and I was not let down in the least. Inside this small and wonderfully designed book I found show more 125 pages of Biblical promises that are very fitting to share with a young child. A book divided into “God’s Promises When…,” God’s Promises About…,” “God Wants You To…,” “God’s Promises of Help When…,” God’s Promises about Making a Difference…” “God’s Promises about Jesus…,” and “God’s Promises for You…,” this book shares many scriptural truths with little boys in a concise and memory verse style. The art work in this book is simplistic but very pleasing to the eye and conveys the emotion or message of each page elegantly.

I enjoyed fingering through this small book that uses scripture...

The Bible verses in this book offer comfort and encouragement when young boys need reassurance of God's protection, love, and forgiveness. As children see again and again that Scripture has the answers they need, they will learn to rely on God and His promises. The promise verses have been selected from the best-selling International Children's Bible.

Simply said, God's Promises for Boys is a lovely guide that touches on all of the important, and sensitive topics, of a young boy's life. show more

Written in easy-to-understand style that readily appeals to children, God's Promises for Boys covers the full gambit from "Growing Up is Hard" and "You Are Angry," to "Share With Others" and "Being a Better Friend." Lessons that can be turned to to when needed, used daily for affirmation, or read cover to cover for a complete understanding of all God promises our young men.

I've chosen to read a section a day to my rural boys (ages 7 and 9,) which has led to many enlightening discussions with them and and enriched understanding of God's promises for us all. Do the boys enjoy this book? Well, they keep reminding me to read a section with them each day, so as the saying goes, "that proof is in the pudding!"
