Hidden Animal Colors gives many examples of animals who may appear to have ordinary colors, but have a unique hidden pop of color somewhere. It gives some of the reasons as to why they have those colors as well. I think this would be a good book for kids ages 3-6 maybe. It has great pictures to look at.

Beautiful, up-close photography of creatures from around the world. Entertaining to turn the page to see what the surprise hidden feature of each animal is. This could easily be used for teaching predictions.
