One of the clearest, comprehensive books on fabric dyeing, painting, and printing techniques I have ever seen. The one to get if you can only have one on the subject in your library.
Jane is an amazing teacher and innovator in creating gorgeous fabrics starting from white, colors or prints. My first book from her was borrowed by a friend and never returned. So I purchased an updated version. It's a great book.
I use this book frequently.......and not only to make beads. Very good in regards to technique
This is a three DVD set and is the entire Complex Cloth workshop. The demonstrations begin with dyeing and overdyeing and include all the processes used to generate a layered surface - discharging with discharge paste and also chlorine products, extensive information on textile paints, and also foiling.
In addition to the wet processes Jane also discusses and demonstrates stamp carving, making a stencil from interfacing, and two silkscreen surfaces that are easy to make without any special show more light set-up. The demonstrations cover everything in the book Complex Cloth , but in an updated and expanded format show less
