Gang of Four

The post-punk band's debut album.

2.5/4 (Okay).

The songs are annoying (seemingly deliberately - I'll never understand the hard-to-listen-to-means-it's-Art mindset). But the funky beats and stuttering guitar are kind of great.

The source of this concert is hotly contested - the fan site notgreatmen.com says:

"[Claims to be a live concert from New York City, 9/9/79. However, another source suggests that the New York gig was at the 'Bottom Line' whereas the 'Mothers' gig was in Chicago on 9/11/79. So which one this really is is uncertain.]"

Whatever the case, there's no disputing Go4s fiery performance. This one's been making the rounds for years, but this seemed like a good time to re-seed. show more Enjoy!
