A VERY patient dragon endures his child's many attempts to reignite his fire in this amusing picture-book from France. The jaunty text reads like an advice manual, offering one suggestion after another, from cheating at cards to make your dragon angry to vigorous tickling. In the end though, it is the magic of a kiss (and the love behind it, one supposes) that does the trick...
Originally published in French as Comment rallumer un dragon éteint, this delightful picture-book romp features a show more wonderfully droll narrative that will read quite well aloud, and expressive and boldly colorful artwork sure to grab and keep the reader's attention. I appreciated the use of various font sizes and colors, in the text here. The theme here reminded me a bit of Dragons Love Tacos, although in that book the object was more to prevent one's draconite friends from igniting. Recommended to all young dragon lovers who enjoy humorous tales. show less

As histórias humanizam figuras como fadas e princesas, mostrando-as com dilemas comuns, como preguiça de fazer feitiços ou preferências por vestidos curtos em vez dos tradicionais modelos cor-de-rosa.
My almost-3-year-old son loves this book. It has a good message, although i wonder if it is a little complex for him. I think he likes it mostly because he likes animals. Some of the illustrations are a little too loose and free and he's always asking what they are. I get annoyed that there's a kangaroo among the animals, even though the rest are clearly african animals.
Hmmm.....this book was interesting. It's far too long for a storytime so I'm glad I'm reading it during COVID19 . It was also translated from French which I do think makes it a little choppy.
But it is the story of a dilapidated hotel and its wacky guests. But when the hotel literally starts falling apart around people, how will everyone band together.
