The Production of Books in England 1350-1500 (Cambridge Studies in Palaeography and Codicology) by Alexandra Gillespie
An excellent and in-depth analysis of the whole process of the production of books in high and late medieval England. Covers aspects as diverse as materials used, the language used, where books where produced, how pages were designed and illustrated, how books were compiled and bound, and economic aspects of book production. Also covered are censorship, and the relationship of English book production to the wider European context.
