Jean Wilson's book 'Weaving is for Everyone' is like a scrapbook full of everything to do with the art of weaving you could wish for in one volume. It is both an idiot's guide for the total beginner as well as being my 'go to book' for weaving in general.

The book is stuffed with around 300 images of mostly black and white line illustrations and photographs, with a small spattering of colour plates dispersed throughout.

You could basically start weaving immediately with instructions for making show more a cardboard loom. Once you get stared with how easy the basic concept of weaving is, you will want to get more and more involved as I did, and this book helps you do that with an overview of the basic terminology used by weavers and simple explanations to projects. show less
This book is an important basic reference work of weaver controlled weaves, which is also a lively and inspiring guide for the creative weaver -- an exciting panorama of techniques that can be explored, experimeted with, or adpted for original designing.
This book forms part of a set with Weaving You Can Wear. The two books were originally devised as one volume split into weaving you can wear and that which you can use.
This book explains how rectangles and squares can be turned into table runners, bed spreads and wall rugs.
Shaped weaving can be used to manufacture chair coverings; and woven bands for door curtains or re-woven together to make pillow coverings or even a handy wall organiser - perfect to show off your collection of shuttles show more and beaters.

Individually the books are a mine of different ideas and processes; together, they form an invaluable archive that no weaver should miss out on.
