I bought I Promise by LeBron James to use as a memory book for my child, with the idea that his teachers could sign it at the end of the school year. The message of the book—about making positive choices, working hard, and believing in yourself—is exactly what I wanted to surround him with as he grows.

The illustrations are bold and beautiful, and the promises on each page feel empowering and encouraging. It’s more than just a story—it’s a values-based keepsake.

Using it as a memory show more book made it even more special. Each teacher wrote a message inside, connecting their notes to the themes of the book. Now, it’s a lasting treasure full of wisdom, love, and inspiration that he’ll be able to look back on for years to come.

I highly recommend I Promise not only as a great read for kids, but also as a meaningful way to preserve memories from a special school year.

Not a bad story at all -- 5 kids with varying challenges (poverty, anger, abuse, famous relatives, degenerative disease) but who love to hoop are devastated when their after school opportunity to shine is canceled, and find ways to continue to pursue their dreams. There are some great messages in here -- don't let things stand in your way, but it is ok to make choices to prioritize your family, your ambitions, whatever makes the most sense to you. There's a lot of wish fulfillment. There are show more a lot of characters and that can be hard to keep track of. There's some great highlighting of the fact that none of the kids is only a basketball character -- they all have more to them, other passions and interests and commitments. Pretty cool. The title is a slogan that is more related to James' charitable efforts than this book, which kind of bugs me, but it's still a good book. show less
LeBron James serves as a role model for philanthropy and motivation, inspiring countless children. The book is exceptional as it instills in children the importance of making a positive impact while striving for personal excellence. Teachers could use this book as a tool to encourage children to pursue their dreams while making a positive difference in the world. It is also an excellent resource for promoting empathy and philanthropy, as well as discussing the potential of children to become show more role models themselves. This is good for ages kinder-2nd. show less
I purchased I Am More Than by LeBron James to use as a special memory book for my child—something his teachers could sign at the end of the school year. The empowering rhymes and vibrant illustrations make it a beautiful keepsake filled with positive affirmations about who he is and who he can become.

The book’s message about dreaming big and being more than any label really resonated with me, and I loved how the teachers’ notes tied into those themes when they signed it. It turned into show more a meaningful collection of encouragement and support that my child will cherish for years.

I highly recommend this book as both an inspiring read and a unique way to capture memories from the school year.
