Having been a fan of the same bands and the same sorts of clubs at the same time as the author, just in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Washington (DC), this collection of images does instill feelings of nostalgia. However, the fact that almost none of the photos come with basic labeling means that this book is not especially useful as a document. Also, I was a little surprised at the dearth of Boston bands like the Neats and the Lyres. Finally, when Grecco refers to the band the "Modets," it's show more the "Modettes." show less

Awesome, awesome, awesome photobook. You know how every time any woman wears foundation you can see it on her skin and you know she's wearing it? Yeah, you can see that. No retouching, bruises, zits, ingrown hairs, big smiles, it's all here. The little notes accompanying the photos are a little repetitive, but so is porn, okay?

Strange dude, but great pictures. A useful book with lots of good ideas.

This book could have been a great collection of musicians at their height, but the lack of captions, labels and context reduces it to "a bunch of photos of people doing stuff."
