Huh, who would ever have guessed I would like a book of cartoons about books? I had to reread it, when I accidentally pulled it off the shelf along with the cat humor, before I could reshelve it. Fortitude reading is one of my favorite cartoons ever.

A 1988 collection of cartoons about books, reading, writing, publishing, and literature. A lot of these are New Yorker cartoons. I must confess, I've never been a huge fan of New Yorker cartoons. They often seem to... kind of forget to be funny. But there are enough cartoons in here that gave me a smile or a chuckle to make it well worth the brief amount of time it took me to flip through it, and certainly enough to make it worth the dollar I paid for it at the last Friends of the Library sale.

My mother in law is a teacher and the cartoons in this book hit too close to home. The first third of the book is the funniest. My favorite cartoon is the first one.
Some overlap between this one and the [b:The New Yorker Book of Cat Cartoons|572035|The New Yorker Book of Cat Cartoons|The New Yorker|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1320487302l/572035._SX50_.jpg|559064], which I don't mind. One of the advantages of this one is that it just plain has more cartoons.

There are worse ways to spend a cold January morning than reading cat cartoons while also petting a cat. I've enjoyed my trip through all the cat cartoon show more books.
