IDW’s writers and artists really know what they’re doing with the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, building upon old, should-be throwaway characters, breathing new life into main characters (Shadow has personality in this series; Amy is mature, and her leadership role feels natural.) fun dialogue, and phenomenal art!
That opening Big the Cat comic? So good with a twist and I never cared about Big like that. I was cheering so much when I saw Blaze and the koalas from the Sonic Rush Adventure show more games. This was such a good arc. I wonder what the next one will be. show less

One of the things I really enjoyed about this series is that Dr. Wily isn't a complete asshole like Eggman. Yes, he is a villain, and he consciously makes bad choices in his pursuit of world domination, but I liked how this series offered glimpses into his potential goodness, and this issue was no exception.
I've seen crossovers in multiple forms in the past - movies, books, television, comics. Some have been hits, others misses, some a mixture of both. When I heard about Archie Comics' crossover event last year. I must admit I was wary. However, being a fan of both of the comic series, I was also curious.
I was not disappointed. The backstory to HOW the worlds of Sonic and Megaman cross over actually work, and was handled well. The real icing on the cake for me though, was Eggman and Wily's show more partnership. Evil Friends Forever, indeed! Their banter is fun, and though I really enjoyed the crossover in general, I will say that I liked the parts with Eggman and Wily's partnership the best, for its comedic value and to see two evil geniuses interact. This crossover could have started/carried out in any of a number of ways, and I was really happy with how it was carried out. This is the first of three graphic novels chronicling the crossover, and it's a good first part indeed. show less

Oh man, what a great issue. An anti-robot terrorist group... certainly sounds extreme but I could kind of see where they're coming from as there has been plenty of debate IRL about the use of AI, or replacing humans with machinery in factories, etc etc, so I really love the depth that Archie Comics has given to the Megamanverse.
