As a science teacher, I absolutely love this book (and the rest of the "Grossology" series). It is colourful and hilarious, and gives an impressive array of information on: Barf, boogers, farts, body odor, burping, ear wax, bad breath and the other bodily functions that boys can't seem to get enough of. This gives them a chance to learn the science behind these, while laughing hysterically at the illustrrations and comments. A great way to get boys interested in reading and biology!
Such a fun book to read aloud to grades 4-6. This is a book to read and learn about the human body. From farts, to acne, and scabs; students will learn why and how our bodies do certain things. The fun illustrations will keep students engaged and wanting to read more. Students will laugh, gag, and stick their tongue out in disgust over and over again; and they might even forget their learning about biology and the human body. Great fun!
Author Sylvia Branzei and illustrator Jack Keely prove once again that they know what fascinates, and completely disgusts, kids of all ages. Learn about slimy creatures, vomit-munchers, bloodsuckers, and unforgettable animal poops. It's an icky concoction of information, but it contains a heaping helping of real and memorable scientific facts. With a perfect-bound spine and all new covers, Animal Grossology is easy to read! And it is perfect timeing, as the Grossology Museum Tour begins this show more summer. show less
S says: I think this would be a good book for a second grader because it is more about blood and cool people that actually did drink blood, like the Greeks and Dracula. I think all kids would want to read this because it's interesting.
