The Lighthouse under the Clouds by Thomas Docherty and Uwe-Michael Gutzschhahn is a fiction book written for children ages four and up. It is a story about an island on the North Sea that is always cloudy. It is so cloudy that the people never see the sun, moon or stars. It also rained most of the time there all year round. The brightest light they had was from the lighthouse. The girl that ran the light house was a girl named Kate. She loved the lighthouse and the light that it gave off and show more became sad when she had to turn it off. She had an idea that there had to be a lighthouse similar to hers up in the sky since it was brighter during the day than at night. So Kate and her friend Tom built and built until they had a boat that sat on the clouds and they could see the stars, sun and moon. They loved it so much they lived on the boat that sat on the clouds. show less
