I like this: "From fashion to food to home, garden, and travel, frugal living is about rethinking our values and what we do with out time." I appreciate and basically share (though I don't always live up to) the values this book preaches, but to my surprise I didn't find it very well written (e.g. "he sent her some fabric, which she immediately turned into ... dresses for my baby sister and I").
This is Thrift 101, super basic stuff. Good for people with well-paying jobs, comfortable lives, and health insurance- and I'm not being snarky. Everybody's got to start somewhere, if they become interested in living a thrifty lifestyle, and this is not a bad place to start. It wasn't a good fit for me, thought, thus the low rating.
Botanica North America: An Illustrated Guide to Native Plants: Their Botany, Their History, and the Way They Have Shaped Our World by Marjorie Harris
Not really a field guide, as the large size prohibits any use in field work, but a decent work that gives information on a number of the plants of North America. In spite of its large size, there are a great many common plants that are left out.
