#6 in series. Lexi is going a step further in her relationship with Slash by having him meet her parents. Disaster strikes in the form of sniper fire. Who is shooting? An assassin hired by Johannes Broodryk, the psycho from her last case. He has kidnapped Lexi's best friend Elvis and engages Lexi in a cat and mouse game with the final being a cyber attack unleashed and murder. All agencies want in & Lexi is teamed with Navy SEALS to find the psycho and her best friend. Suspense, hilarity, show more and family had me glued to the pages show less
Knight Moves is the second book in the White Knights series. This is a YA series that I think preteen through adults will enjoy. It is a spin-off from the Lexi Carmichael series. I started the series with this book. I was able to keep up just fine but now want to get every single book I have missed.
There is so much I loved about this book that it is difficult to start. My brain shouting, “just tell them to read it. Tell everyone to read it!,” is not helping at all. I love that this book show more has three smart teenagers, two females and one male who are good friends. I love that Angel was a loner who is learning about friendship and is advancing her social skills in a natural way. I related to that part so well. All of the teens at the school are unique. They can, and do, stand by theirselves with their own strengths and weaknesses. Yet all of them are equal. The ending, of this book, wow! I don’t want to give it away but this sapient author surprised me with something I have found missing in a few YA books I have read. I felt like cheering! Oh and the school..if you aren’t going to Hogwarts, you probably want to go here. The negatives? I have none. I plan to recommend this series to my library for their YA section. I don’t have children in school but I am thinking to donate copies of it to the alternative high school as well as the high school libraries. Teens need to see they can be brilliant. They can be strong. They can be different yet equal and both sexes can be friends without the pressure of an intense relationship. They need to see that their strengths and weaknesses are normal and they are still valuable with them. This series shines a light for them. show less
This book was SO MUCH FUN. Poor Lexi! The author puts her through so much hell! I laughed so much, and I've never read such a raunchy book that could also be considered a "sweet" romance.

In this novel, Lexi is working for Finn, and their first client wants them to do something that's more like private detection than computer security. In the meantime, Finn has asked Lexi on an official date, and it's probably the worst date you could imagine. Just when you think it has gotten too awful, it show more gets even more so.

Lexi does get to exercise some of her hacking skills in this story, rather than relying on her twin hacking friends Elvis and Xavier from the first story. It was a needed change; I felt like Lexi relied too much on others in the first story.

Some fun speculations: I don't think Finn is the man for her. Neither is Slash. It's Elvis. When she's with Elvis, she doesn't have to worry about her sexual maturity or lack thereof, there is never any embarrassing catastrophe, and they even have some nice chemistry. Finn's a nice guy (and bravo for the author for coming up with so many appealing men), I just don't think he's the guy for her.

Neither do I have any special insights, so I'll look forward to the next story to see what tortures the author devises next!

No Regrets by Julie Moffett
Lexi Carmichael mystery series #10. Best read in series order. STEM
Bridesmaid at best friend Basil’s wedding causes Lexi a lot of angst. Picking up a package and delivering it for a client should be easy, but strange instructions and men following Lexi says otherwise. Accidentally crashing the honeymoon is just a line item in the spreadsheet that Lexi is keeping on the calamity she brings to every situation.

Highly humorous situations in this episode of Lexi and show more her job and friends. I love the spreadsheet she is keeping even though she should be looking at it as all the hardships she has endured.

The last restaurant scene with her choking on (what she thinks is) a strawberry in the chocolate mousse was priceless.
I’ll be reading the next in the series soon.
