When Doug was a little boy he found a magical lound in a hole in the woods near his parents summer home. There he was a king that needed to lead his people to victory against the evil empress. Unfortunately the enormity of these necessities overwhelmed him and he ditched his friends and started a life of leaving things unfinished. When he returns as an adult looking for his son, he finally sees how his actions affect others.
This book does teach an important lesson about finishing what you show more start but I don't think that it's preachy which is good. Mostly the author focuses on the humerous things that come out of the situation, which is what keeps it from being preachy. show less
