Very interesting theoretical discussion on adaptation and selection mechanisms of organizational evolution. The empirical sections of the book are less convincing - the emphasis on abstracted models of rates of entry and exit, of mergers, of organizational age, etc., are perhaps necessary to make quantitative claims about the field, but are also missing important aspects of the history of each of the domains under study.
