Japan in 60 Easy Steps: The compact and comprehensive travel guide with expert tips (Japan Travel Guide Series Book Book 4) by Axel Schwab
While I’m stuck in one country due to COVID I like to browse travel books. This one was interesting. It is almost devoid of pictures and maps and is more a cultural guide than a travel guide, but it does present some tips of navigating trains, hotels, and restaurants that seem like they would be useful. I liked that it was not about the main tourist attractions. Lots of other books do that well. This was more about enjoying and appreciating time between sites.
Tokyo Food – 101 Places to Eat: A Restaurant Guide with 194 Photos, 21 Maps and 101 Tips by Axel Schwab
This is what I want in a travel guide. It had good descriptions, was well organized, had a picture of the food from every restaurant, and was pleasant to read. Now, if i could just find a way to travel again I will try out the recommendations.
