Five guarded and confused foster children. Two loving, but weary, foster parents. One former socialite. Put them all under one dilapidated roof and you get eight unique individuals and one Lost and Found Family. Or maybe, just maybe, it becomes the family they’ve all been longing for.
The Lost and Found Family is a touching story of hardship, change, and the faith that God can make things better, no matter how difficult the situation appears in our eyes.
Hardship and change can affect show more anyone—from children in a foster-care environment to well-to-do socialites. Sometimes it’s systemic; other times it’s instantaneous. Ester Hobbes has led the good life with her loving husband. But when Franklin suffers a fatal heart attack, her life will never be the same.
In dire straits, Ester cries out to God for help. But is there enough time for Ester and her new “family” save their home?
The Lost and Found Family reminds us that God brings out the best in us when we show His love and compassion to those in desperate need of love.
From Dove.org:
Synopsis:
Ester Hobbes (Ellen Bry) lives a high society life until her husband dies in an accident and she is left with nothing except for a house in rural Georgia that is being used as a foster home. She moves in with the intention of selling the house, but from the unexpected kindness of the foster parents, she ends up helping to take care of the rebellious teenagers (Lucas Till and Jessica Luza) and 3 other young children who have issues of their own. Through her faith and prayers, she finds a new meaning and purpose for her life.
Dove Worldview:
We never know what God has planned for any of us. Sometimes the life change comes as a total shock when a love one dies unexpectedly. This story is about discovery, compassion, hope and love. As Mrs. Hobbes looks at the family and the new surroundings she finds herself in, she becomes aware of the effects of her new position on everyone. Not sure why she is in this situation, she asks God for his guidance.
This movie deals with some issues of the foster care system. I am not sure that younger children would understand. We are pleased to award "The Lost and Found Family" our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for ages 12 and over.
