⭐ Slightly Comical Gore | Supernatural

Thank you to Image Comics for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I picked up this comic because the title immediately caught my attention. The story follows Rennie Bethary, a fashion design student who never expected to become a killer. As the plot unfolds, we gradually uncover the deeper reasons behind her actions, blending humor and horror in a stylish way.

Rennie gives off strong “black cat energy”, sharp, cool, and unpredictable, while show more her best friend Sophie radiates “golden retriever energy,” loyal, bright, and endlessly supportive.
Their contrasting personalities make for a fun and engaging dynamic, especially as they navigate the competitive world of a design institute full of spoiled students and shady staff.

The comic strikes a nice balance between dark humor, mystery, and fashion-fueled chaos, creating an entertaining mix of slightly comical gore and supernatural flair. The pacing stays quick and engaging, and despite its grim premise, the story surprisingly lands on a lighter, happier note by the end.

A retired serial killer who is forced to get back in the game to
defend the honor of his woman, who just so happens to be a blow-up doll. Our protagonist Edwyn is a troubled man, naive and kind-hearted but brutally violent towards those who hurt his woman. The color scheme mixed with the brutality was an excellent touch. The plot was paced nicely given the brevity of the story and it manages to have a satisfactory ending.
That was fun and quick. Campy (duh) and gross, which is a plus for me. Kinda like Pink Flamingos but with an action movie plot. I thought the art was well done, but not a fit for the story, if that makes sense. I wanted something messier, edgier. Weirder.
Do you also think you're a monster who doesn't deserve friends? Then you'll like this. It's a story about a serial killer trying to live her life wth these amazing new things called friends until someone hurts her friends and makes her strike. And then she makes incredible clothes out of their skin.
