2023 movie #51. 1966. Despicable actor Frankie Fane gets nominated for Best Actor. His life is told in flashbacks by his right hand man Hymie (Bennett). Overwrought melodrama that audiences of the day found hysterical. There's a lot of talent here, mostly wasted.
2024 movie #235. 1956. Timid shopkeeper George (Ford), tired of being a timid shopkeeper, shows off his gun skills to the town. Then a bandit (a snarling Crawford) comes to town to challenge him to a gun fight. Pretty good Western.
2025 movie #180. 1955. Tough guy Crawford is the head of the NYC mob. Nobody crosses him. 24-yo Bancroft is his spitfire daughter, tired of being known as the gangster's kid, Conte is the ice-cold killer from out-of-state, brought in as the mob's enforcer. Such a great film.
