Actually a rather clever book, although the clever bit is at the end, after a lot of (seemingly useless) nonsense, as it explains how archaeology is a bit of a guessing game.
Genre: Science Fiction

This is a great example of a science fiction book because it contains real facts and definitions about Meteors, Comets and Planets. It is fictional in the sense that the class traveled into space to reverse the direction of a meteor, but their logic in changing the path was accurate.

Plot: This is a good struggle plot because you are waiting to see what happens next. There are twists in the story as Dorothy Ann labels the mystery rock the wrong thing and as they end up show more going the wrong way. In the end, there is also a surprise call from NASA.

This is a good science fiction book because it talks about timr travel and space, as well as scientific laws. The events that take place are also fictional, but are believable to children.
Magic Schoolbus books are great introductions to science. This one is on asteroids, comets & space rocks.
