This handy compilation from the Midwest Theological Forum is a great way to carry around the Church's treasury of prayers. The book includes the basic repertoire of Catholic prayers, a large number of devotions, a guide to Confession (including long and short examinations of conscience), the complete Order of Mass (in English and Latin, based on the Roman Missal, third edition), simple Morning and Evening Prayers, various blessings, and prayers for Eucharistic Adoration.

The book stands up show more well to fairly rough treatment. I keep my copy in my backpack where it is regularly jostled and bumped. At one point the cover was folded over for a few hours; incredibly it went right back into place and the crease is barely noticeable.

Handbook of Prayers is a perfect first prayer book or extra "to go" prayer book for busy persons.

The Handbook of Prayer is a helpful guide and useful for every Catholics. It is rich in traditional prayers and forms of piety. The book is mainly in English but a commendable Latin version at the side of some prayers. The beauty of this book comes from its rich text and complete Order of the Mass both in English and Latin, with all prayers (even principal prayers, Preface, and Eucharistic Prayers for each season). It also comes with a simple Kyriale and musical notations for sung parts of show more the mass. show less
"Introduction to Catholicism" is a great textbook. I bought it for personal use outside of a classroom setting. It is a great book that lays the beliefs, teachings and traditions of the Church in a most useful way. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to understand their Church better- and most certainly for teaching their children about the Church (even if they are not homeschooled).
My daily companion. There is so much more in the book than just the Mass. It is a guide for the Catholics life.
