About the Author
Born in 1896, Ernst Udet joined the Imperial German Air Service in 1915. For his service and actions in the First World War he was awarded the Iron Cross First Class and Pour le Mrite. Between the wars, Udet became a stunt piolot and was involved in film work. In 1939 he was put in charge of the show more Luftwaffe's development and production departments, attaining the rank of Generaloberst. Udet committed suicide on 17 November 1941. show less
