Drawing Apart: Political Cartoons from a Polarized America by Two-Time Pulitzer Prize-winner David Horsey by David Horsey
This collection of 150 cartoons by David Horsey, two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize for political cartoons, covers the period from Barack Obama’s departure from office in 2017 to Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021. In other words, the years Donald Trump served in office. Consequently, your appreciation of Horsey’s wit and wisdom is likely to be colored by your political affiliation.
Although unabashedly critical of Trump, for the most part these cartoons emphasize factually verifiable show more attitudes, comments and actions of Trump and his supporters. Trump’s supporters may dislike the views expressed here, but they cannot dispute their veracity. show less

A collection of a David Horsey political cartoons is always a treat and this one is no exception. This collection from Horsey’s years in the early 2000’s at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer focuses primarily on the unholy trio (President George Bush the younger, Carl Rove, and Dick Cheney) and their war in Iraq. A few appeared toward the later years of Bush’s reign and focus on President Obama. These cartoons entertain and serve as a pithy reminder of the innumerable follies and show more inhumanities that have consigned Bush to the bottom tier when U. S. Presidents are ranked in terms of their effectiveness. show less
This brief 124-page book of political cartoons by Pulitzer Prize winner David Horsey covers the early years of the Obama administration, roughly 2008 to 2013. If you are of a mind and you can read it straight through in a couple of hours and not grow bored. Personally, I rationed myself to make it last several days. Even then, I was sorry when I finished. It’s a genuine pleasure.
