Twee, saccharine. The black & white illustrations aren't as effective. The oversize format is just awkward for a book that's meant to be shared with a tot. Too bad.
I loved this book. I've read it hudreds of times. My parents read it to me when I was little, but I still read it every now and then just for hte fun of it.
