The story of a boy in Africa whose village is attacked by a group of men. His family is killed, everyone in the village is killed, and he is alone. This is not a nice story at all, but is very well written and I couldn't stop reading it. It makes you think about war and people affected by war.
Before I read this book,I thought it was an easy and relaxing story. But actually this book was thriling!! A woman who is an archaeologist is involved in an accident.I was a little fearful of the stoy, but it had me read so quickly.

An interesting and quite dark story about a man who is on the run after killing a woman. I liked the way it showed us the story from different sides. And the parts told from the man's point of view were good - you can really feel that he is evil.

No one is alive in the village except Jojo, a ten years old boy. The men came to Jojo's village and they destoryed wverything, killed everyone including his father, mother, sister, teacher...
What is left was his animals. And he spend his long days with them. Suddenly, some people came to his village. Are they the same as men who attacked this village? Then he knew who are they and what happened to this village.
I think this story is difficult but so good. It says about victims of a civil war, show more and many people such as UN soldiers and Doctors without Borders work to help them. It also tells me how dangerous working there is. There are many landmines and many children and soldiers are killed or injured. Enemies attacks the tents which many children, who are victims of the civil war stay. It was surprising for me because no children have reasons to be attacked. I don't know why the enemies do such things. And This story's last made me so sad. I think even children have to join this war.
This story tell us nothing about what we have to do. I think author want us to think it by ourselves.
