Nora M. Mulligan

Nora is on a writer's list I'm on, so I wanted to read her book. It's more or less science fiction which isn't something I normally read. However, the story is fine. The writing was laborious to read, full of cliches, and awkward, it seemed to me. Nothing really difficult about reading the book, but it was wordy and repetitious. This book is copyrighted 2001, and I suspect Nora has grown quite a bit as writer since then. I enjoy her short stories on the list when I have time to read them. show more It's hard to say anything bad about someone who makes the effort to write a book, who loves to write. I didn't think the story moved along well or smoothly, mostly due to the writing, not so much the actual story itself. I thought the writing could be simpler, more straightforward, and more creative, using variation in terminology. Many things weren't clear to the reader. A little of that is OK in some stories and would have been in this one, but I felt those things were mostly for the wrong reasons. show less
