John Taylor was born in Buckie, in the north east of Scotland, in 1958. His father was a local photojournalist and, after initially studying art in Dundee at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Taylor began increasingly to photograph and went on to study for a Masters in Fine Art and Photography at the Royal College of Art. His work has featured in many publciations and exhibitions and is in several collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum. - Birthplace
